“It's nice to be a fan” campaign

Our main goal was to combine communication channels and leverage the promotions of EuroBasket on various media platforms. This was successfully done by combining the official anthem of EuroBasket together with the image TV advertisement and in this manner achieving both the viral effect and free advertising space in all the different countries, an extremely important aspect of the promotional activities. In our creative concept we included the biggest treasure of Slovenian basketball, the fans. We created an online contest in which 10 of the most passionate fans were selected and awarded with a special gesture, to spend one day as a true national team player. We invited them to hang out with the Slovenian national team during which we surprised them with an event where 500 volunteers started cheering for them during their practice game. This was also the key part of the actual tv ad which was launched in primetime on Slovenian national TV with the headline:  “This is how we treat fans in Slovenia” (“Lepo je navijati za Slovenijo”). Our goal was achieved, since fans really embraced the idea, while foreign media rolled out our free commercial across Europe. Oh yes, of course, the final part of the “This is how we treat fans in Slovenia” campaign  was the sales push tagline “Tickets at eventim.si”, which was the official ticket sales partner.
