EuroBasket 2015

FIBA Europe

The year 2015 is a milestone in EuroBasket history. For the first time ever, the tournament will be held in more than one country. The organisers invited Zadrga, together with two other agencies from Italy and Great Britain, to come up with a corporate identity concept, which would equally represent France, Germany, Croatia and Latvia as hosts of the biggest basketball event in Europe.

After going through all presentations FIBA decided for our solution. So after developing the whole visual identity for the EuroBasket 2013 in Slovenia, we are now branding yet another major sports event. We have prepared solutions for logotype, secondary elements, mascot, promotional materials, arena and venue branding.

Within the corporate identity each of the five host cities and arenas received their distinct look and feel. The story came together in the final stage where all four superheroes from the first stage came together in Lille.

The graphic concept of the ball elements, present in the logo, were creatively adapted to all communication tools including billboards, advertisements, media materials ... The primary focus was placed on the group of six key players participating in the group stages. Each host country received their own visual communication tool kit.

Frenkie the fireball was a fierce, feisty an very entertaining creature. From the first sketch to the actual living mascot he entertained basketball fans  all across Europe. We are proud to have brought him to life.

The distinctive yet unified visual corporate identity maybe expressed best through the various media zones such as the mixed zones and press conference areas in each arena.

The EuroBasket 2015 official app was created and designed within our digital department. The app was created inhouse and was an upgrade from the EuroBasket app we produced in 2013.

Our designers prepared various materials ranging from promotional materials, water bottle, accreditations to the media guide and personalised official programmes.
