NK Maribor

For several years Nova Kreditna banka Maribor (Nova KBM) has been one of the main sponsors of the Slovenian record football champions NK Maribor. To bring some football excitement into the rather dull banking business, we proposed a true novelty for all fans of the purple team – the Purple Prepayment VISA Card (Vijol’čna predplačniška VISA).

The card was launched on the last game day of the season 2013/14, so that NK Maribor supporters could celebrate not only the twelfth national championship title, but also enjoy all cardholder benefits and discounts. The campaign launch included billboards, prints ads, POS material, promotional activities, a broad digital platform and of course the 10 card designs fans could choose from. But of course the game was not over yet.

Honouring NK Maribor’s second qualification for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League after 15 years, we produced a special series of TV-commercials screening before, at half-time and immediately after the final whistle of the clubs Champions League matches.

 

By upgrading the existing sponsorship relation with a total new VISA prepayment card the Nova KBM not only exceeded all business results, it also won further sympathy among the purple fan base.
